Born in Canada, Christine Cousineau is a multidisciplinary artist living in New Zealand since 1989. Trained at the University of Quebec in Montreal, Cousineau has since developed her artistic skills focusing on clay and bronze sculptures. Her practice explores the dynamic between form and expression, elegance, and rawness. Her anthropomorphic figures are executed with spontaneity and imperfection, while revealing a quirky sense of poetry and finesse. Her work gives rise to the complexities of life, society and human beings; bridging past to present by creating a dialogue that transcends time.
